Photographs
The ONHM photograph collection contains materials such as slides, prints, negatives, contact sheets, and digital photos. It primarily showcases the history of the people, places, and events associated with the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Images range from construction photos of the NIH campus to portraits of NIH staff to pictures of researchers in their laboratories. While the collection includes images of NIH activities and initiatives from the late 19th century to the present day, the majority of ONHM’s photographic holdings date from the mid-to-late 20th century.
